Description
Provides case assistance for aged, blind, or diabled legal immigrants who do not qualify for Supplemental Security Income(SSI) due to their immigration status. Recipients are eligible for In Home Supportive Services (IHSS) if there is a need for in-home care. Immigrant must be a legal permanent resident of the U.S. and meet all current SSI eligibility requirements. Applicants must provide financial information about their immigration sponsors. The income and resources of the sponsor are considered available to the CAPI applicant however, there are exceptions.

Description
Accepts applications for and provides CalFresh benefits for eligible households. The CalFresh program is a nutrition assistance program in which eligible low income households can purchase food at participating grocery stores with the use of an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card that looks like a credit or debit card. Someone can be eligible if they own a home, have no children, are working, own a vehicle, or have no permanent address. People who need assistance meeting their food needs are encouraged to apply for CalFresh, income limits apply. Description
Provides a program to issue a maximum of $1,500 to eligible participants who have obtained a job or received a documented offer of employment, and need to move closer to work, child care, or public transportation. Or families living in temporary situations who are employed and are in need of permanent housing are also eligible. This subsidy may be used for moving expenses, such as moving truck rental, utility deposits, and security deposit. Payment is made directly to the vendor or landlord. Description
Provides a special need payment to meet their costs for temporary housing. The maximum Temporary Homeless Assistance payment is based on size of the CalWORKs family and is for a maximum of 16 days. Homeless Assistance is available once in a 12-month period unless the family is homeless due to domestic violence, natural disaster, inhabitable living conditions, or a physical or mental disability. All exceptions must be verified by a third party agency. Provides Homeless Assistance Grant, a rental payment paid directly to the landlord to prevent loss of housing or eviction by eligible families due to financial hardship or circumstances beyond their control, not for lease violations. This assistance would be for a rent arrearage of up to two months or $1,500, whichever is less.
