Description

Provides free tax preparation to all taxpayers, regardless of age or income and checks for EITC qualifications. Earned Income (includes all taxable income and wages from working) and adjusted gross income (AGI) must each be less than: $56,383 ($63,398 married filing jointly) with three or more qualifying children $52,918 ($59,478 married filing jointly) with two qualifying children $46,560($53,120 married filing jointly) with one qualifying child $17,640 ($24,210 married filing jointly) with no qualifying children Tax Year 2023 Maximum Credit: $7,430 with three or more qualifying children $6,604 with two qualifying children $3,995 with one qualifying child $600 with no qualifying children

Social Security card or ITIN for each family member, photo id, W-2 forms for all jobs held in 2023, all 1099 forms and other income or tax forms, child care provider information such as name, address and tax ID number, a check with your account numbers to direct deposit your refund (If you use direct deposit, you can get your refund FAST), copy of last year’s tax return and your household's health coverage information.

    Description

    Provides free take-home groceries in an assortment of perishable and non-perishable foods, fresh produce, and milk and eggs if available. Clients may pick-up groceries once a week. Ready-to-Eat (RTE) grocery bags available for households without steady access to heating, refrigeration, and/or storage.

    Valid id for all adults 18+ in household, medical cards or birth certificates for children age 17 or younger. Proof of address (PG&E bill, water bill, etc. - IDs are not used as proof), proof of income for all adults 18+. Documents do not need to be originals - copies are accepted.

    Eligibility

    Low income Contra Costa and Solano County residents; must register with center in order to pick up food. USDA commodity food has income eligibility requirements which are discussed during appointment. New registrations arrive by 11:30AM.

    Intake Procedure

    Walk-in during food pantry hours and present MCC card at reception for check-in. Client will wait to be called by intake staff. New clients must provide ID at reception in order to receive a MCC card. New registrants may take slightly longer to register however, are welcome to pick up food same-day.

          Senior Moments

          Description

          Addresses nutritional needs of seniors and serves as a wellness check with an opportunity for seniors to socialize. Offers health and wellness screenings, healthy meal, themed events and entertainment, seated exercise, social time, bilingual BINGO, take home groceries, and educational speakers. Food can be picked-up without attending Bingo.

          Hours

          1st & 3rd Thursday, 8:30am - 10am. Bingo is first come first served basis, with seating capacity for 55. Senior Food Distribution is 9am - 10am.

          On first visit: valid identification for every adult 18+ in the household, birth certificate or MediCal card for all children under 18 in the household, proof of income for all adults 18+, and proof address.

                  Offers several youth programs for students of different ages for when school is and is not in session. All programs provide an environment where students learn through arts, crafts, social activities, and collaborations with other agencies providing services, while also receiving homework assistance from tutors and mentors.
